Many individuals will spend the festive season in hospital receiving treatment for their mental health. The Trust provides these inpatient services for children, young people, and adults across Hull and East Yorkshire. Following last year's success, Health Stars is appealing for new, unwrapped gifts suitable for both adults and young people.
Anita Green, Charity Manager for Health Stars, highlighted the importance of the gesture: "A gift may seem like a small gesture, but it can help someone feel remembered and connected to their community. We're hoping the community will once again get behind the appeal and help us bring some festive cheer to patients this Christmas."
Donations can be dropped off at various collection points across Hull and East Yorkshire. Alternatively, individuals can purchase items directly from the Health Stars Amazon Wishlist or make a monetary donation to purchase additional gifts.
The appeal will benefit services such as Inspire, the Trust's CAMHS inpatient unit for young people aged 12 to 17. Donations help staff make the day special, creating positive memories and reminding young people they are valued and supported.
Every donation will help remind those spending Christmas in mental health services that they are not forgotten and that their community is thinking of them during the festive season.
Gifts can be dropped off between Monday 19 October and Monday 14 December 2026 at locations including East Riding Community Hospital Reception in Beverley, the Health Stars office at Willerby Hill, Inspire in Hull, Malton Hospital Reception, Rosedale Community Unit in Hedon, Whitby Community Hospital, and the YOURhealth Hubs in Bridlington and Goole. Monetary donations can be made via Just Giving.
