Families who have experienced the loss of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after birth are encouraged to visit the hospital throughout the week. They can add their baby's name on a forget-me-not flower to a dedicated Memory Tree, which will form a memorial display in the entrance foyer.
As a gesture of support, the hospital will be illuminated with pink and blue lights for the entire week. This initiative aims to show solidarity with families who have lost a baby.
A special Baby Remembrance Service is scheduled for Sunday, 11 October, at 2pm at Jubilee Church on King Edward Street in Hull. This non-religious service provides a time for reflection, and parents will have the opportunity to light a candle and share their baby's name to be read aloud during the ceremony.
Further remembrance services will be held in Scunthorpe on Saturday, 17 October, at 2pm at St Lawrence's Church, Church Lane, and in Grimsby on Sunday, 18 October, at 2pm at City Church, Chelmsford Avenue.
No booking is required for any of these events, and all family members are welcome to attend.
