Grimsby In Bloom has become the latest organisation in North East Lincolnshire to sign the Armed Forces Covenant, pledging to support veterans and serving personnel.

Grimsby In Bloom, a local organisation based at The Pavilion on Freshney Drive, has celebrated becoming an Armed Forces Covenant signatory. This commitment aims to support veterans and serving personnel within North East Lincolnshire.
Working with North East Lincolnshire Council’s Armed Forces Officer, the group will now offer veterans, serving personnel, and their families a dedicated space in their gardens for reflection, as well as access to their café area for socialising and sharing stories.
The celebration event, held last week, was attended by representatives from the Council, Navigo, NEL4 Heroes, Op Courage, the Hull4 Heroes Valour Recognised Centre, and the North East Lincolnshire Health & Care Partnership. Grimsby In Bloom hosted the event to better understand how they can support the armed forces community.
“

"This is an important step in signifying to those who have served, or are perhaps still serving in some capacity, that they don’t have to be lonely, and they don’t have to stay at home. They are welcome in their communities, and there are spaces that are not only open to them, but that will welcome them and others who have served. I’m really pleased to have Grimsby In Bloom on board with us as signatories."

"We were delighted with the turnout on Monday and the positive response from attendees. We hope this will be the first of many drop-in sessions with members of the Armed Forces Community."
