Barnsley Hospice has opened a new dedicated unit for its 'Good Finds Market' within Barnsley Markets, offering shoppers the chance to buy pre-loved clothing and support local patient care.

The hospice's popular 'Good Finds Market', which began earlier this year, has secured a permanent space on the first floor of the award-winning Barnsley Markets, located in Unit 37 near the atrium. This move brings the hospice's retail presence back into the heart of the town centre.
Barnsley Market, a key part of The Glass Works and a cornerstone of the town centre since 1249, was recently named Best Large Indoor Market at the NABMA Great British Market Awards 2026 and won the inaugural Geraldine Carter Award. The new stall aims to directly fund care for local patients and families.
Cllr Luke Wheat, Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Assets, expressed his excitement, stating, "The Goods Finds Market Barnsley Hospice stall opening in Barnsley Market is incredibly exciting and will help a brilliant charitable cause, with money going directly to fund care for local patients and families. Barnsley Hospice play an important role in our local community, and their new stall provides a great opportunity for shoppers to support their work while visiting Barnsley Market."
Will Cooper, head of retail at Barnsley Hospice, thanked shoppers for their support. "The Good Finds Market has had fantastic support since we held our first event earlier this year, and I want to thank everyone who has shopped with us and shared their feedback. It is your support that has helped us bring the Good Finds Market into Barnsley Markets for the coming months," he said. "Barnsley Hospice is here for the community and it’s that community which helps make our care possible. By shopping at the Good Finds Market, you can pick up a bargain, give pre-loved clothing a new home and help us care for local families."
The Good Finds Market will be open Monday to Saturday, from 8.30am to 3.30pm. Further information about Barnsley Hospice and how to support its work can be found at www.barnsleyhospice.org.
