Residents of Immingham, Habrough, and Stallingborough are invited to a 'Pride in Place' Meet the Board event on Wednesday 28 October, from 2pm to 7pm at Oasis Academy, Immingham, to discuss community development ideas.
The event follows a summer engagement programme where board members and partners gathered feedback from over 150 residents and young people in Immingham and Habrough. A further 125 people completed a community survey. The findings highlighted a strong sense of local pride and a desire for investment focused on opportunities for young people, community safety, and enhancing local spaces.
Popular 'quick-win' projects identified include a shuttle bus connection between Habrough and Immingham, improved public toilets, and a BMX or pump track at Spring Street Park. Key priorities highlighted by residents are tackling anti-social behaviour, crime prevention, supporting young people, and strengthening community improvements. Young people specifically called for better park equipment, more activities, improved wellbeing support, and facilities like a BMX track. Adults echoed these priorities, also noting the need for better transport links, CCTV, and town centre enhancements.
Longer-term ambitions include a youth club, a community centre, improved leisure facilities, and more retail and food options. The findings will contribute to a 10-year vision for the area, which will be submitted to the Government later this year. A draft plan will be available online from October 28.

"We would like to thank everyone who took the time to speak with us, complete surveys and share their ideas. The message we’ve heard is clear – people are proud of their towns and want to see investment that supports young people, strengthens communities and improves local facilities. The Meet the Board event is an important opportunity for residents to see how their feedback is shaping plans for the future and to help us refine our priorities before we finalise our vision for the next 10 years."

We’re committed to ensuring local voices remain at the heart of our plans, and this event is another opportunity for residents to help shape the future of their communities. We want people to come along, meet the Board, see how their ideas and feedback are influencing our priorities, and continue working with us to create a long-term vision that reflects the ambitions and aspirations of local people."
Residents are encouraged to drop in anytime between 2pm and 7pm to learn more, meet board members, and continue the conversation. Free snacks will be available. For more information, visit the Immingham, Habrough & Stallingborough Neighbourhood Board.
