North East Lincolnshire Council has introduced new measures and invested in the Go4Growth initiative to empower local businesses, SMEs, and VCSEs to successfully bid for council contracts.

As part of its commitment to supporting local suppliers, North East Lincolnshire Council has implemented significant changes to its Contract Procedure Rules (CPRs). These revisions are designed to improve access for local businesses to public sector opportunities, foster economic growth, and strengthen the local economy, while maintaining value for money, transparency, and fair competition.
The council has now invested in Go4Growth, a social enterprise dedicated to assisting organisations in bidding for Local Government contracts and navigating the procurement process. While the main website is freely accessible, the council's investment allows businesses and organisations to access 'Your Journey' for guidance before proceeding to the 'membership' section. Registered users who select the postcode tab 'DN North East Lincolnshire' will gain access to a range of webinars, training sessions, and one-to-one support.
Local businesses, SMEs, and VCSEs are also encouraged to register on YORtender and the Government’s Central Digital Platform (Find a Tender) to receive alerts for upcoming contract opportunities. Registration is free and provides access to opportunities within the Council and the wider public sector. Future procurement opportunities for NELC are advertised on the procurement pipeline.
Businesses seeking support and advice can also contact the Economy & Growth team at North East Lincolnshire Council, which offers services including commercial property and land searches, grants, funding, and finance support. More information is available at Business Support – South Humber.
