Residents of Grimsby are invited to a free Community Design Session at Docks Beers on Tuesday, October 13, to help shape a new organisation focused on supporting local ambitions and ideas.

An initiative led by Our Future is calling on the people of Grimsby to contribute to the development of a new organisation aimed at backing the town's ideas and ambitions. A free Community Design Session is scheduled to take place at Docks Beers on Tuesday, October 13.
This workshop will provide a platform for discussing the essential functions of a new organisation designed to foster mutual support among residents and build a positive future for Grimsby. It is also intended to be a hub for the town's Growing Together Fund.
The town has previously shaped the Growing Together Fund, a pioneering community fund where local individuals determine fund allocation, with expert advice. This new initiative represents a subsequent step in building upon that ambition.
Following a successful event in July at Docks Beers, where over 40 residents contributed to shaping the Fund’s Strengthen & Grow pot, the conclusions drawn—such as local decision-making with expert guidance—now inform its operation.

"This session is about something bigger. Exploring how to shape an organisation that helps to back ambition, connects the fantastic ideas and people in the town, and provides the resources that can meet and match this momentum. Nothing is off the table, when it comes imagining what the future of the town can look like."

The session will run from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Food will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Free places can be booked via Eventbrite.
Our Future is supporting the delivery and future development of the Growing Together Fund, in collaboration with social investment advisers from Key Fund. This work is endorsed by the Greater Grimsby and Pride in Place boards, with backing from North East Lincolnshire Council and in partnership with the town's residents.
