Dearne Valley College is enthusiastically marking National T Levels Week, running from 19th to 23rd October 2026. The college is spotlighting technical education, which is now in its seventh year of delivery. T Levels are designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry experience. This year, nationwide pass rates have reached 92.6%, with over two-thirds of students achieving a Merit or above, according to statistics published by the Department for Education.
T Levels are two-year qualifications for post-GCSE students, developed in collaboration with leading employers to equip students with the skills and knowledge sought by top businesses. The qualifications comprise 80% classroom learning and a mandatory 20% industry placement of at least 45 days (315 hours). A T Level Distinction carries the same UCAS points as three A-levels at A.
The college is celebrating T Levels Week to recognise the hard work of its students, the dedication of its teaching staff, and the support from regional employers who host industry placements. Research indicates that approximately a quarter of T Level students secure employment with their placement employer after graduation. Furthermore, 71% of students agree their course prepared them directly for the workplace, a figure significantly higher than traditional Level 3 routes, as per the Department for Education’s T Level evaluation research.
Dearne Valley College encourages prospective students to explore its T Level courses and employer partnerships. Information is available for individuals seeking the right path for their future and for local employers interested in hosting placement students to access emerging talent and address skills gaps.
