“"It is a huge honour to be this year’s Master Cutler, and I look forward to championing industry across Sheffield and South Yorkshire over the next 12 months. I am particularly looking forward to the Master Cutlers Challenge and the opportunity to raise as much money as possible for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, a charity close to our hearts because of Liz’s role as Lead Nurse for the Burns Service at Sheffield Children’s Hospital."

Ian Nicholls, Technical and Quality Director at Sheffield Forgemasters, has been installed as the 387th Master Cutler at a ceremony held at the Cutlers’ Hall.
The installation marks the beginning of Ian Nicholls's year in the historic role, following in the footsteps of previous steel industry leaders such as former Sheffield Forgemasters’ Chair, Tony Pedder. Throughout his tenure, Nicholls will uphold The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire’s commitment to representing manufacturing interests in Sheffield and South Yorkshire, bridging the region’s industrial past with its future.
Ian Nicholls will be accompanied by his wife, Liz, who will serve as Mistress Cutler. Together, they will lead the Master Cutlers Challenge, an entrepreneurial initiative designed to raise funds for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
The initiative provides participants with £50 to grow into a larger sum, with all proceeds supporting the children's hospital.
