The Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust has shared its extensive experience and expertise in providing healthcare for homeless individuals with leaders from the Queen’s Institute for Community Nursing (QICN).
The visit took place at the Horton Park Medical Centre, where the Trust's Homeless and New Arrivals team, established for 20 years, presented their person-centred approach to care. The QICN, which recently launched its Faculty of Homelessness and Inclusion Health Nursing, sought insights from an experienced northern team.
Presentations covered how vulnerable clients are supported in the community and the ongoing development of the service. The Trust’s award-winning, multi-disciplinary Proactive Care team also shared insights on health inequalities, presenting their work in central Bradford and Keighley.
Jamie Waterall, Deputy Chief Public Health Nurse, thanked the team for a valuable and inspiring visit, highlighting their innovative and person-centred approach. Philippa Hubbard, Acting Chief Executive, noted the team's two decades of expertise in homelessness issues, underscoring the Trust's significant work in addressing health inequalities.
