Berneslai Homes is actively supporting National Hate Crime Awareness Week, which runs from 10 - 17 October, to raise awareness of hate crime and foster inclusive communities.

The campaign aims to encourage conversations about what constitutes hate crime, how to report incidents, and the support available for those affected. Hate crime is defined as an incident targeting an individual based on their social identity, including disability, race, or gender identity, and can occur in person, digitally, or online.
Berneslai Homes supports Barnsley Council's No Place for Hate campaign and is committed to creating welcoming neighbourhoods. Colleagues demonstrated their support by making personal pledges to stand against hate crime and support victims.
“

"We want our communities to be places where residents feel safe, respected and supported to challenge any behaviour that promotes hate or discrimination. By supporting National Hate Crime Awareness Week, we're demonstrating our commitment to building safe communities, and reinforcing the message that there's no place for hate in Barnsley."
